Main - in mast electric furling, deck stepped mast.

Genoa - new sail 2003. Electric furling and electric primary sheet winches.
Downwind rig - twin poles for genoa and ballooner. Ballooner goes into second track on Genoa furling foil via a very neat Amel design. There is zero chafe when set. Reefing down is fast and simple - ease both genoa and ballooner sheets and then roller furl together as needed.
Mizzen reacher
All sails (except ballooner) are controllable and set from the cockpit. With the electric furling and winches anyone can set and adjust sails, it does not require a gorilla!
Mainsheet track adjusts from cockpit
Genoa sheet car traveller adjusts fore/aft from beside the cockpit.
Dedicated winches are provided for each function, no winch sharing.
3 electric self tailing winches (genoa and mainsheet) and 8 manual self tailing winches
All 11 winches are Lewmar and disassemble easily for maintenance. Underside (motors etc) of the primary winches can be accessed in seconds via rip off panels below.

Autohelm ST7000 - back-up system mounted on rudderstock (can be used to steer boat in the event of steering cable failure)
Gallant is primarily a 24V boat but she does also have 12V.
House batteries - 400AH 24V (Trojan 27TM Marine, new 2003). All batteries are located in a glass fibre, water tight compartment under the pilot berth. Access is quick and easy.
Starter battery - 105AH 12V separate to house bank but in same battery compartment.

Volvo Penta TMD22 80HP diesel engine. 3870hrs. Thanks to an absolutely outstanding machinery compartment (which is watertight) engine access is superb, all side of the engine are accessible and with the top opening hatch there is plenty of light and fresh air when working in there. No excuses for not being 100% up on maintenance.
Water maker - "Dessalator" 40l/hr 24V. A superbly reliable water maker. Water maker is operated and controlled from the galley. The water maker automatically monitors water quality and sends water to the tanks only when it has reached standard.

Feathering three bladed Max prop' (plus spare fixed three bladed prop stored in lazarette)

Amels come with a very comprehensive inventory of equipment, a true sail away spec'. The advantages of a boat designed and built to a full spec' is that all the systems are properly installed and accessible for maintenance and are all tried and tested to work together. Amel is very fussy about who's equipment they fit, they will only fit a vendor's product after it is proven reliable and up to the standard required. The following items and enhancements made to Gallant are all included in the sale:-
Dual, independent Autohelm systems - the Amel standard Autohelm plus a second system attached direct to the rudder stock (installed by Amel as an optional extra). Backup system can steer the boat in the event of a steering cable failure.
Nassa Marine Navtex Pro - dual antenna receives both international and local transmissions.
