I started at the University of California, Santa Cruz in September of 2003 as a freshman. UCSC is in Santa Cruz, by the Monterey Bay, about 2 hours south of San Francisco. Here are pictures and info on what I've been up to since . . .

I live at Kresge College, one of the 10 colleges within UCSC. Kresge is unique in that consists only of apartments, as opposed to the usual college dorms. I live with 4 other people, 3 guys, and 1 girl. Kresge is hidden in the trees and has a stereotype as being a bit of a hippie college, it certainly has a laid back, easy going feel, but I wouldn't say it was a hippie place. Kresge is relatively small, with 11 buildings, all centered around a upper and lower 'street', in fact the architecture at the college has won some awards in the past, apparently it's supposed to represent a Mediterranean town!

Here are some pictures of Kresge to give you an idea of where I live, some i got from the web, and the ones of the apartment were taken on move in day, hence the sparsness! :

To tell you a bit about what the heck i'm doing here: I'm planning to major in Health Sciences, which is the equivalent of Pre-med. Right now my classes consist of Chemistry, Calculus and Biology. Next year i get to take the dreaded Organic Chemistry, and lots of Spanish (a requirement for the major!). I take 3 courses per quarter, with a Chem lab as well, it's a lot of work!

As I write this is have just started Spring Quarter, my last quarter as a Freshman! The classes are harder this quarter, as they build upon each other, so these are the final ones in each of the Chem, and Calc series. I'm also doing basic dinghy sailing, hopefully to take my mind off of things for  a while! You might be wondering what C.S.I Night is (above photo), CSI is a TV drama on forensic scientists, and every Thursday all my friends and I meet up and watch the show!

Some photos of fun over Spring Break with my old High School friends!! (these are only a selection . . . )
